The Greek Islands are the safest islands in the world.
The island of Paros is situated in the central Aegean Sea and is part of the Cyclades island group. It lies approximately 185km south-east of Piraeus, the port of Athens. The main town is Paroikia, which offers a great choice of restaurants, bars, cafes and nightclubs, plus excellent shopping. Also you can rent a car or motorbike - the best way to see the entire island. Paros has numerous beaches, many of which are close to Ragousis Apartments including Livadia and Krios beaches. Also worth visiting are Golden Beach, Pounda, Logaras, Piso Livadi and Agia Irini. The constant strong wind in the strait between Paros and Naxos makes it a favoured windsurfing location. In Parikia's main square is the town's principal church, the Ekatontapiliani (literally: "church of the hundred doors"). It is said to have been founded by Saint Helen, the mother of the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great, during her pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
